Notes: Presbytery investigated the case but there seems to have been a long delay. No details about accusations against her. By 2/4/1700 it was noted that the civil judge was not going to pursue the case. Mr Paton appointed to apply to the sheriff and stewat deputes to get an order to banish her. At some point she requested a testimonial from the Presbytery of Dumfries and was refused due to her mala fama. The JC40/11 document narrates that she took a voluntary banishement from Dumfries to avoid trouble, but was seen in those parts.

Trial Notes
No details but investigation by Dumfries presbytery in 1700 resulted in her being banished from the area of the presbytery and synod. She agreed to do this and it seems that she then re-appeared in Kirkcudbright area.
